About Saffron Street

Indian street food brand with branches in Leicester, Blackburn and London’s Gants Hill. The family business was founded in 2019 by father, uncle and son, Farhaan Patel, Haroon Patel and Mohammed Meza. The menu features a range of signature dishes but it is most famous for its ‘thaalis’ - sharing platters which include a wide variety of starters, main meals and a dessert dishes. “Saffron Street takes street food to another level, the business said. “We offer authentic Indian Street food reimagined not reinvented, served with a smile in a beautiful, warm atmosphere. Saffron Street is more than just a place to grab a bite. It's all about the experience. We take you on a culinary journey exploring ingredients and flavours from the streets of India which are then reinvented in our kitchen. Known for our famous Masala chips and other signature dishes, you really won't want to miss out.”

Why franchise with Saffron Street

  • The brand said its home branch in Gants Hill has been a labour of love and “we don’t want to lose that feeling in our expansion”. It said: “We want each sibling restaurant to become extended family with the team and the customers all experiencing the Saffron Street culture.” No prior food experience necessary as the executive chef will support franchisees with the recruitment of their head chef, who can then build their team accordingly. It will also provide key food suppliers of sauces and marindes. Saffron Street has engaged a digital marketing agency to manage its social media, building brand content and ensuring cohesion across its various sites. It has also invested in a full IT architecture to support the successful rollout of the brand. “From the Epos managing the sales in the branch, the inventory system supporting stock and purchasing, to the integrated finance systems and the food safety system we have ensured a seamless, transparent, trackable information lifecycle that helps us to fully assist in the success of sibling branches,” it said. Brand assets are available to develop additional items as and when required, including packaging, uniforms and point of sale, and it says the décor is “special not casual”. It said: “We can provide you with blueprint interior design plans, and support with the sourcing of décor in India including mirrors, lighting, serving dishes etc. Everything from the up-beat interior to the friendly service and the sharing dishes encourage this sense of fun and happy times.” The menu is “an inspired mix of tradition and innovation”. The company added: “We take pride in our authenticity, by creating a street food menu that combines both regional favourites and the expertise of our culinary team. We have a high proportion of return visitors reordering our signature dishes as well as trying new things. We take great pride in our in-house specialities.”
