About Propel Franchise
The UK hospitality franchise marketplace, built by people who have spent their careers in the sector.
Propel Franchise exists because finding a hospitality franchise in the UK is harder than it should be. Brands are scattered across generic franchise directories that treat a coffee kiosk and a car valeting round as the same product, and the information that actually decides an investment - real investment range, territory availability, what the franchisor supports and what they do not - is usually the information that is missing.
We are part of Propel Hospitality, which has spent more than two decades reporting on and working with the UK hospitality sector. That gives us two things a general franchise directory does not have: the relationships to get accurate information from franchisors, and the sector knowledge to know when what we are being told does not add up.
What we do
We list hospitality franchise opportunities with the detail an investor actually needs, connect qualified investors with the brands that fit them, and publish the news, data and analysis that put an individual opportunity in context.
We also run a supplier directory covering the fit-out, technology, food supply and advisory partners a franchisee needs to get a site open and trading - because the brand is only half of what makes a site work.
Who we work with
Investors, from first-time operators looking at a sub-£75k format to multi-unit development partners. Franchisors looking to reach serious investors rather than volume enquiries. And the suppliers who serve both.

How much investment do I need to get started?
It depends on the brand and format - our listings range from sub-£75k conversions to £250k+ multi-unit development agreements. The figure shown on each listing is the minimum total investment, which includes the franchise fee, fit-out and initial working capital. Most franchisors expect a proportion of that to be your own unencumbered capital, with the balance funded.
How long does it take to open a franchise?
Most hospitality franchisees go from first enquiry to opening day in six to twelve months. The variable is almost always property: finding a site that works, agreeing terms and getting through planning and licensing takes longer than training, fit-out and recruitment combined.
Do I need hospitality experience?
Not always. Many franchisors train new operators from scratch, and some formats are designed specifically for first-time operators. Commitment, available capital and people management matter more than a hospitality CV. Full-service restaurant and pub formats are the exception - those usually require prior management experience.
How do I choose the right brand?
Compare investment level, territory availability and the support a franchisor actually provides against your own goals and how hands-on you intend to be. Then speak to existing franchisees - including, if you can, one who has left. That conversation tells you more than any brochure.
What does it cost to enquire?
Nothing. Enquiring through Propel Franchise is free for investors. We pass your enquiry to the franchisor, who contacts you directly.
