Training and support

Cake Box provides three weeks of pre-opening training at its Enfield training academy and Milton Keynes centre of excellence. Training covers shop operations and preparing products to brand standards. A training manager and regional business development manager support the launch, with further guidance available afterwards. Franchisees also attend forums every two months for updates on new products, procedures and developments across the network.

Operational requirements

Cake Box franchisees manage day-to-day cake shop operations, including customer orders, cake finishing, food hygiene, chilled storage, stock control, staffing and financial performance. Shops serve customers in person and through online ordering, collection and delivery. Operators must follow the franchisor’s recipes, presentation requirements and operating procedures, maintain product freshness and provide consistent service for celebrations and other occasions.

Experience required

Cake Box welcomes individual franchise applicants without requiring previous experience in baking or the food industry. Franchisees should demonstrate customer service skills, sound business judgement and the commitment to manage a retail operation. Applicants are expected to follow the brand’s training and operating systems and arrange sufficient funding.
