About Bombay Bites

Bombay Bites was established in Leicester in 2007 by the Wahid family, drawing on a hospitality heritage dating back to 1967. The brand combines authentic Indian cooking with the convenience of modern takeaway dining, serving curries, wraps, rice dishes and customisable signature meal boxes.

Following its first opening, Bombay Bites expanded across Leicester, building a reputation recognised by the British Takeaway Awards and English Asian Food Awards. Its menu focuses on freshly prepared meals, traditional flavours and accessible prices.

Led by director Ahmed Wahid, the business is pursuing franchise growth across the UK, particularly in southern England and Greater London. Opportunities are available for owner-operators and management franchisees, including single-site and multi-unit development. The concept offers partners an established family-led brand and a flexible quick-service format designed for new local markets.

Property requirements

Bombay Bites considers busy high streets, town and city centres, and neighbourhood retail areas, particularly in Greater London and southern England. Premises must support takeaway, collection and delivery, with dine-in space where appropriate. Sites need commercial kitchen facilities, refrigeration, storage, utilities, ventilation and extraction. Floor area, frontage, kitchen layout and seating requirements vary by format. All proposed properties are subject to Bombay Bites approval.

Training and support

Bombay Bites provides franchisees with training in authentic recipes, food preparation, kitchen procedures, customer service and restaurant management. Partners gain access to established operating methods and supply chain support to help maintain product quality and consistency. Marketing assistance supports local promotion, while ongoing guidance helps operators uphold brand standards and develop their businesses. Training duration and opening support should be confirmed with the franchisor.

Operational requirements

Bombay Bites franchisees must follow approved recipes, food preparation procedures and brand standards. Daily duties include overseeing food quality, hygiene, staff, stock, finances and customer service. Owner-operators manage their restaurants directly, while management franchisees need suitable teams. Partners must support training and marketing activities. Multi-unit operators must be able to develop and manage at least three restaurants within an agreed 18-month period.

Experience required

Bombay Bites welcomes motivated owner-operators and management franchisees with strong leadership, commercial awareness and a passion for Indian food. Hospitality, retail or business management experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Applicants need sufficient funds to establish and operate a restaurant, a commitment to training and brand standards, and a focus on food quality and service. Multi-unit partners must be capable of opening at least three restaurants within 18 months.
