Founded in 2018 in Taiwan, bubble tea business Truewin has since grown to more than 40 outlets in Taiwan and expanded to countries including Japan and the Philippines. It is now exploring the UK and European markets and has exhibited at several franchising expos here. As well as bubble tea, it specialises in “wheel pies” - rice flour dough wrapped around a red bean filling and baked over a charcoal fire. “Truewin features modernised urban beverage, combining fashion and profession,” the business said. “The central idea is cheese cream matching fruit and tea. The hope is to stimulate the interaction between people via a cup of tea. We fit the business philosophy of treating customers as friends and partners as family member into life.”

• ✓The amount of investment depends on the type of franchise model, and the company said this will be discussed during the initial franchise orientation meeting. There are two franchise models – in-line full store set-up and counter/kiosk store set-up. The company said that given the current economic behaviour and condition, the projected ROI period is three years, while the initial franchise period is five years. Minimum size for an in-line store is 30 sqm, while for a counter/kiosk it is 15 sqm. For a full store set-up, including construction, expect a minimum period of 45- 60 days, and for counter/kiosk store, a minimum of 30- 45 days. “Truewin is one of the famous bubble milk tea shops in Taiwan,” the business said. “I hope when consumers make a purchase, they are buying more than a drink.
