About PizzaLuxe

Premium fast casual concept launched as a market stall by former Harrod’s director of restaurants and kitchens Paul Goodale in 2011, with sites in Leeds, London and Manchester (two sites). It made its franchise debut in 2018 when it partnered with transport hub foodservice specialist SSP for a site at Manchester airport. It moved into the roadside arena in 2021, through a partnership with Extra Motorway Service Area Group, opening service station sites in Peterborough and Cambridge, although both have since closed. In June 2023, Goodale told Propel the business is moving forward with its pub sector plans and exploring international franchise opportunities. The Editon Capital-backed brand first unveiled plans to launch a franchise model into the pub sector more than 18 months ago, and while Goodale said the plans took a back seat through unlocking and core estate expansion, they are now progressing. The following month, Goodale told Propel he is keen to do more travel hub sites but is moving away from roadside locations. It operated a pop-up in the summer of 2023 in London’s Covent Garden as part of its franchise expansion strategy and showcase the concept to potential franchisees. In September 2024, PizzaLuxe made a permanent return to London with a restaurant opening in Shoreditch.

Why franchise with PizzaLuxe

  • PizzaLuxe is seeking experienced multi unit franchisees for the domestic market and also for whole country territories overseas. Markets of interest include Ireland, mainline Europe and the Middle East. The company offers fast-casual pizzas made in 90 seconds, offering an artisan pizza at an affordable price. It offers a simple menu, showcasing quality market ingredients, plus made-from-scratch cocktails and prosecco. It uses electric ovens in locations that do not require extraction and has a strong breakfast offer for transport locations. Pizzaluxe is a de-skilled operation with detailed, replicable, scalable systems and procedures and an experienced management team. It has a flexible footprint – from 30 square-metre kiosks to 250 square-metre full restaurant and bars. PizzaLuxe has a travel franchise agreement with global partner SSP. It said the inaugural franchise site at Manchester airport has proved a great success; both from a commercial and customer perspective, with sales hitting £30,000 net per week at peak. It reopened after the pandemic in an enlarged footprint with double the seating area. New partnership locations have been identified throughout the travel concession operator’s UK and Ireland estate. “We try to get a little better at what we do every day and have taken time to reflect and refine every part of the PizzaLuxe concept,” said Goodale. “As such, we are well placed to grow the business and take new opportunities as they present. Edition Capital have been fantastic partners since making their initial investment and provide the ideal platform for our next-stage development.” Hawthorne added: “Key transport and shopping locations are waiting. PizzaLuxe is a QSR that serves a well-designed all-day menu and is already highly successful within high footfall transport locations. With TGP International’s unique relationships, PizzLuxe is looking for franchisees in London, the south coast and Birmingham to fill available, very high-profile transport and shopping locations.”
