About Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver Restaurants has circa 65 physical locations and cloud kitchens around the globe. The group operates across more than 20 different countries with 13 different franchise partners. The restaurants include six brands: Jamie’s Italian, Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria, Jamie Oliver’s Deli, Jamie Oliver Kitchen, Jamie Oliver’s Diner, and the experiential Jamie Oliver Cookery School. In October 2022, Oliver said he had learned from the collapse of his restaurant chain in 2019, which saw the closure of 22 restaurants and 1,000 jobs, and was “ready to go again”. He said: “I would call it a minor blip really, in the vision and the dream. A very painful one, but definitely, I'm better for it. I was a young man when I started, I'm much older and wiser now. It was never a size problem, it was rent and rates that got us really, and high street decline.” That same month, franchise partner Gerry Fitzpatrick opened a one-off brand Chequer Lane restaurant in Dublin, Ireland, while Oliver also launched his new pasta delivery concept, Pasta Dreams, in partnership with Taster - with Bristol chosen as the first site. Oliver returned to the UK restaurant scene with the opening of Jamie Oliver Catherine Street in London’s Covent Garden in November 2023. Oliver said: “Losing my UK restaurants was without doubt one of the hardest times of my life, but being a positive part of the restaurant industry is very close to my heart. We learnt lessons as we grew the international restaurants - there are now more than 70 across the world - so I’m very excited to open this restaurant in London and once again serve the public. This opportunity truly means the world to me.” In May 2025, Ed Loftus, global restaurant group director at Jamie Oliver Restaurants, told Propel that the business is set to focus on opportunities to launch in the US, and on entering the luxury hotel market over the coming 12 months. He added: “By the end of this year, we’ll have 87 locations, and then within the next 18 months, it will be above 100. We have a pretty strong pipeline at the moment, and in terms of international, it’s an exciting time. We continue to grow pretty strongly. We’ll open eight new Jamie's Italians this year. It’s still a very popular brand. Jamie’s Kitchen will be into double-digit numbers by the end of this year.” In 2025 it entered three new markets - Greece, Oman and Montenegro - as it continues to roll out its “ambitious growth plan of opening 15 new restaurants by the end of the year”. In September 2025, Loftus told Propel: “2025 is looking like being a landmark year. Even with numerous macro and economic headwinds, we’re pleased to see the restaurant business continuing to grow against this backdrop, with our brands resonating strongly with guests around the world. With a solid pipeline and continued partner investment, we’re well placed to carry this momentum forward into 2026 and beyond.” In November 2025, Jamie Oliver Restaurants partnered with Brava Hospitality Group to relaunch the brand in the UK. Loftus said: “It’s not something we’re going to take lightly. It’s quite a big decision to make as a group, as we all realise how high the stakes are. Going into this, you have to be 100% confident, and we are.” The nature of the multi-site partnership does not preclude Brava bringing in more of Oliver’s international restaurant concepts into the UK, but for now, the focus will be on getting that first site right. Loftus said: “We’re going into this trying to make the first site a success, but with a view that we could do more than just Jamie’s Italian. All we’re focused on at the moment is Jamie’s Italian. What the growth looks like will be something we will look at once the first site opens. It’s just very much predicated on how the public reacts to what we’re going to do, and that will kind of determine how fast and where we grow. But it’s certainly not to do just one location.” The first new UK Jamie’s Italian opened in March 2026, in London’s Leicester Square. At the time of the launch, Brava chief executive James Brown told Propel that when it comes to the possibility of opening more Jamie’s Italian sites in the UK, the focus is “getting this one right”. Brava’s backer, Cain International, let slip at the start of the year that the development agreement allows up to 40 sites to be opened over an initial ten-year period. Brown said: “Obviously we discuss it, but it's 1% of our conversation; the other 99% is about getting this one right.”
