The brand combines traditional tea-making techniques with modern brewing technology, using carefully sourced tea leaves, real fruit ingredients and a range of milk tea and fruit tea recipes.

The business has expanded internationally, reporting more than 200 stores across over 12 countries. Its franchise proposition offers standard high-street shops, shopping centre outlets and compact express stores. Gotcha has also developed promotional collaborations with recognised entertainment brands, including Hello Kitty and Pokémon. The company is exploring opportunities in the UK, although no trading locations have been confirmed. What's expected of a franchisee

Property requirements

Gotcha offers three store formats: standard high-street units of 40-100 sq m, mall outlets of 20–50 sq m and compact express shops of 20-40 sq m. Locations should attract strong pedestrian traffic and provide space for tea brewing, drink assembly, refrigeration, storage and customer service. Site suitability depends on lease terms, visibility, utilities and the proposed format. The franchisor provides store design and fit-out guidance as part of its setup support.

Training and support

Gotcha provides support with site selection, store design, fit-out, equipment and initial inventory. Franchisees receive two to three weeks of training covering drink preparation, service standards, staffing and daily operations. The brand also advertises an operations playbook, hands-on coaching, launch campaigns and ongoing marketing assistance. Subject to site readiness and approvals, the business indicates that a new outlet may open within approximately three months of signing.

Operational requirements

Franchisees are responsible for preparing fresh tea drinks, maintaining recipe consistency and delivering efficient customer service. Daily duties include staff supervision, food hygiene, allergen controls, stock management, cleaning, cash handling and local promotion. Operators must follow brand standards, maintain brewing equipment and manage supplier orders. The owner is expected to devote significant time to sales, drink preparation and business management, particularly during launch.

Experience required

Gotcha does not require applicants to have previous hospitality experience, although retail or foodservice knowledge may help. Franchisees need enthusiasm for the product, financial resources, customer-service skills and a willingness to work actively in their business. They should be capable of managing staff, preparing drinks, monitoring costs and meeting brand standards. Multi-unit ownership is possible, subject to approval, while buyers of existing stores must complete the standard selection process.
