Galito’s
Founded in South Africa in 1996, Galito’s is an international casual dining franchise specialising in flame-grilled peri peri chicken, with plans to expand into the UK.
About Galito’s
Galito’s is a South African flame-grilled chicken franchise founded in 1996 by Louis Germishuys, a former Nando’s franchisee. The brand specialises in Afro-Portuguese peri peri chicken, prepared using distinctive marinades and sauces, alongside burgers, wraps and side dishes. It has developed an international presence through a predominantly franchised network, reaching its landmark 300th opening in 2025.
Galito’s is targeting the UK as a major expansion market and is seeking experienced multi-unit operators capable of developing a substantial restaurant network. Its flexible formats include high street restaurants, shopping centre outlets, drive-thrus and compact GaliPod containers. Franchisees receive support with site selection, design, recruitment, training, operational systems and supply arrangements.

Premises must accommodate flame-grilling equipment, food preparation, storage, ventilation and customer service areas. The franchisor provides guidance on site selection and restaurant design.
Training and support
Galito’s provides comprehensive franchise support, including site selection, restaurant design, staff recruitment and initial training. Franchisees receive operational manuals, recipe cards, preparation procedures and guidance on maintaining consistent food quality. Regional field service consultants provide ongoing operational assistance, while central supply arrangements support product consistency. Additional support is available for master franchise development.
Operational requirements
Franchisees are responsible for daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, hygiene, staffing, stock control and customer service. Restaurants may offer dine-in, takeaway and delivery services depending on their format. UK master franchise partners will also oversee network development and support individual franchise operators.

Galito’s is seeking experienced UK franchise partners with strong commercial, operational and leadership capabilities. Ideal candidates will have experience managing multiple restaurants or established hospitality brands and the financial resources to support large-scale expansion.
