Pizza Rebel is operated by MMI Raptor, a subsidiary of Irvine-based Edison Capital, which acquired Mexican street food franchise Burrito Picante in 2024. The vending concept, which offers piping hot pizza 24 hours a day, plans to have 50 sites across a range of locations across the UK. “The founders of Pizza Rebel were in Nantes on business over Christmas 2022,” the business said. “Going from meeting to meeting left little time to eat, and due to the festivities, most establishments were closed when their meetings had finished. They came across a machine that claimed to offer hot pizza 24/7. Five minutes later, they were enjoying hot delicious pizza in the early hours of the morning. Inspired, they pledged to introduce this groundbreaking technology to the UK. Pizza Rebel was founded in 2023, with the aim of bringing great tasting pizza, fast, to the people of the UK. Pizza Rebel machines are manufactured to the highest standards, offering customers the opportunity to delight their guests with piping hot pizza 24/7 as well as snacks and drinks.”
Why franchise with Pizza Rebel
- Option A is machine only, where machines are purchased or leased from Pizza Rebel and supplied unwrapped, with the option to purchase stock through Pizza Rebel at preferential rates. Option B, the franchise model, sees machines purchased or leased from Pizza Rebel, installed by Pizza Rebel and training provided. Machines provided fully branded, with a maintenance package available and marketing support provided. Stock is to be purchased through approved suppliers at preferential rates. Franchise fee is £20,000 plus VAT. Franchisees are provided with an exclusive trading zone large enough to build an estate of more than five machines, with the franchise renewed every five years. Royalty is 10% of net sales, paid weekly in arrears. Maintenance support is on an ad-hoc basis or on a retained basis. Franchisees keep all sales, minus royalties, and processing fees are charged monthly based on sales. Regular audits from Pizza Rebel ensure brand compliance and cloud-based system manages the machines. Requirements are locations with a minimum 3sqm for pizza
- and snack option, with outdoor locations will be considered, and with mains power. Areas must be available to store stock and consumables. Initial investment needed for the franchise model is circa £40,000, including franchise fee and working capital.
